We are seeking a Survey Draftsman with outstanding time management and people skills who will apply business knowledge and experience to RLA’s overall operations. You will have the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- The right candidate will process and interpret survey data collected from the field.
- Will be efficient at planning and preparing CAD drawings using Autodesk Civil 3D Software.
- Will be able to maintain and organize digital and paper survey records.
- Work with the field crews and project managers daily.
- Produce top quality drawings.
- Be knowledgeable with surveying and construction drafting.
Requirements
- More than 1 year of AutoCAD experience preferred
- Ability to understand boundary and topographic surveys preferred
- Strong spoken and written communication skills
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks
- Effective work in both individual and team environments
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, Hours: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
Starting salary: $25 - $30/HR – Based on Experience

Survey Crew Chief Job Posting

RLA's sole mission is to aid clients in developing innovative, environmentally sound, and cost-effective projects that promote sustainable development.
We are seeking a qualified Survey Crew Chief to direct all duties of the survey field crew with outstanding project management and people skills. You will have the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Performing land surveys and collecting field data
- Maintaining field data records and survey project files
- Field supervision of survey crew for construction, topographic, boundary, right-of-way, and control survey projects
- Participate in pre-survey planning meetings with project managers, engineers, and contractor representatives
- Instructs and trains survey crew in survey and mapping methods, use of equipment, and field safety procedures
- Meeting scheduled milestones in close coordination with the project manager and other project staff
Requirements
- Demonstrates a good knowledge about the surveying industry
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Strong ability to work in a team environment
- Must be able to carry equipment over rough, uneven terrain, and physically navigate varying field conditions
- Ability to work outdoors in different weather conditions
- Ability to represent him/herself and the company in a professional manner to the general public
- Valid US driver’s license required

Starting salary: $25 - $30/HR
